What We’re Looking For:

2U is looking for an experienced global workforce design leader to drive the global workforce strategy and day-to-day global workforce operations for our organization. This role sits within the People Operations Team. As the leader of global workforce design, you are a strategic thought partner across all areas of the People Team, as well as within the organization more broadly. You will lead the assessment, design and execution of global workforce plans including global location viability, insourced/outsourced employment models, international employment requirements, sourcing options, risk management, vendor management, and effectiveness in delivering organizational value. You will define and lead projects that ensure the necessary global people resource plans and pathways exist and are executed upon. As the subject matter expert you will work with several partners across the organization including Legal, Contracting, Finance, Global Mobility and Compliance and collaborate directly with the People Team COEs and HRBPs. Your primary objective will be to ensure the global workforce needs of 2U are activated upon.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Strategy Design & Alignment

  • Design and maintain an overarching global workforce strategy that meets current and potential future workforce needs.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to understand business strategies and ensure readiness for all global employment-related needs.

Operations & Project Management

  • Use data and insights to forecast and monitor 2U global workforce demand, trends, and impact.
  • Lead or partner on projects related to managing the global workforce including resource planning, technology implementations, contracts, compliance, etc.
  • Identify and partner with compliance on new and changing employment regulations.
  • Oversight of global aspects of the employee experience including partnering with colleagues in the US and South Africa to ensure consistency.
  • Build and maintain resources that allow HRBPs and business leaders to ‘self-serve’ on some aspects of global employment.
  • Train across the People Team and effectively communicate changes happening in the global workforce design space.

Relationship Management

  • PEO (Professional Employer Organization) contract ownership, oversight, and management.
  • Build and continue strong partnerships across the organization.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • 5-10 years’ experience in HR, compliance, data analytics, vendor management, project management, strategy design or management consulting
  • 3-5 years’ experience in building global people programs and strategies, international compliance, PEO management and/or international workforce planning
  • 5+ years’ Vendor Management
  • Ability to gather and use data to inform decision-making and persuade others
  • Strong problem-structuring and problem-solving ability
  • Specific experience with global HR
  • Strong Google Workspace skills
  • Proven ability to challenge and motivate a team to foster innovation in an atmosphere of mutual respect

While this position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., we will prioritize those who live in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and who are available to come into our Headquarters in Lanham, MD two days a week.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($110,000-$120,000), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
