The Substitute Preschool Teacher is responsible for a Head Start classroom with a direct focus on children 3 to 4 years of age. The Substitute Teacher will work collaboratively with one other teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 14 to 20 children. This position is “as needed” and will be called upon when coverage is needed in the classroom at various locations throughout the county.
Job Responsibilities:
Work effectively with other teachers (s) in the assigned classroom and center
Support the social and emotional development of children and using “positive guidance” approaches to dealing with challenging behaviors
Encourage the involvement of the families of the children in a Head Start program and supporting the development of relationships between children and their families
Follow all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other aspects of center operations
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
The commitment and passion for working with children and families
Effective communication and written skills

Compensation:
$15.49/hour paid on the 7th and 22nd of each month
Part-time, on call position but some situations require long-term assignments!
Position not eligible for full-time benefits
Opportunity to learn about our system and be promoted into a full-time role like Early Head Start Teacher, Floater Assistant Teacher, Assistant Preschool Teacher or Teacher's Aide.
