  • HYBRID – If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
  • REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.

Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

As a part of the Employee Services team, this role is the primary administrative and project support for the HR Centers of Excellence. The Senior HR Support Leave Coordinator, will be responsible for carrying out the administrative functions within the leaves process, including responding to leave related questions from colleagues and managers, processing leave transactions, and assisting with vendor and payroll escalations. This role plays an important part in managing the logistics and tracking of leaves and will work to resolve any technical issues that hinder the process. Additionally, this role will provide operational support to several benefit, payroll, and colleague relations processes.

Working closely with askHR Service Center, this role will also assist colleagues with, payroll, benefits, systems, and policy questions. To ensure success, the Senior Coordinator, HR Support - Leave should exhibit strong time management, organization skills and be comfortable working with data within HR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support highly complex leave escalated cases from all levels within the organization and Human Resources.
  • Partner closely with vendor, manager, Colleague Relations, and legal to provide superior colleague support.
  • Engage in status calls with vendors to monitor metrics and improve quality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor, employment laws, and company policies including but not limited to leave-related parameters, FMLA, PTO, etc.
  • Partner with HRIS team to maintain data integrity within HCM.
  • Audit leave records to ensure accuracy, resolving escalated inquiries from colleagues, manager, payroll and vendors.
  • Standardize communications to improve response timeliness and quality.
  • Assist with external and internal leave related inquiries.
  • Assist with maintaining employment related records and assist our employee relations and legal department, as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism and use good judgment to identify issues and escalate, as needed.
  • Produce and submit reports to varies departments.
  • Assist with managing and enhancing the HR internal resource center and self-service tools (HR knowledgebase and chat bot).
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 2 plus years experience in Leaves, Human Resources or related field required
  • Remarkable time management, organization and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently and meet/exceed deadlines.
  • Understanding of human resources functions and administration
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular) and comfortable working within HR databases.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $19.91 and $36.09. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
