DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to develop solutions that require significant innovation for our Amazon Dash Cart team, located in Hudson, MA.

Amazon Dash Cart allows shoppers to checkout without lines — you just place the items in the cart and the cart will take care of the rest. When you’re done shopping, you leave the store through a designated dash lane. We charge the payment method in your Amazon account as you walk through the dash lane and send you a receipt. Designed and custom-built by Amazonians, our Dash Cart uses a variety of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. As a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer (MTE) within our team, you will engage with a skilled and accomplished cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative technologies. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive key aspects of technology solution definition, execution and validation. Some of the key job functions of the Senior MTE include:
- Actively foster and drive culture of inclusion.
- Develop or implement manufacturing test strategies and solutions for electrical, optical, and mechanical hardware.
- Document test procedures, test specifications, and acceptance criteria for new and current products.
- Guide and implement the design of automated test solutions, including electrical interfaces, interface test adapters, and software
- Propose design changes that will enhance product manufacturability and testability.
- Write programs to control test equipment and devices under test using standard software tools.
- Evaluate and approve product Engineering Changes Orders (ECOs).
- Support EOL test stations at international contract manufacturers and system integrators.
- Persistently promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Up to 30% travel required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BS in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field
- 5+ years of related work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/test engineering focused environment.
- Experience with debugging DC electrical systems.
- Functional knowledge of one or more programming languages (LabVIEW/MATLAB/Python or similar)
- Demonstrated expertise in test strategy development, ability to define test requirements, and implement manufacturing EOL test solutions to support NPI programs
- Working knowledge of basic electrical equipment, electro-mechanical controls, and test equipment
- Experience with reading and debugging with electrical schematics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree in Electrical, Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Electrical & Safety Standards, functional safety systems for industrial controls.
- Experience in support or maintenance in manufacturing or field sustaining environment.
- Experience developing & maintaining Automated Test Systems using LabVIEW/TestStand, Python, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.
- Experience with networking, and wireless computer systems.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art automated test equipment and test fixture design.
- Excellent business communication skills.
