The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

The Role:

We are a cross functional team of engineers who obsess over our customers and our devices by seeking out and finding all hardware issues during product development. The Signal Integrity team is looking for an expert in high speed validation, interface compliance testing, and embedded system debug.

The Sr. SI Validation Engineer will be a member of the Signal Integrity team with responsibilities for the simulations, tests and validation of high speed digital interfaces on new products and components. This will require close cooperation with the EE design, compliance and software teams. You will work at the PCB and product systems level. In this role, you will:
- Perform pre-layout and post-layout SI and PI simulations
- Work with design teams to develop and execute validation plans
- Tune custom hardware to optimize Signal Integrity and cross-functional performance
- Work with design team to debug issues
- Develop test set-ups and research new validation technologies
- Develop firmware/scripts/applications to test the hardware
- Provide functional verification of electrical subsystems
- Report validation status
- Mentor team members on Signal Integrity and Lab Validation best-practices

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience with validation and compliance of highspeed interfaces including HDMI, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, MIPI and ePD.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
