DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking an innovative and high-judgement Senior Program Manager (PM) to join the new Compliance Operations team within Amazon Privacy Services. Amazon Privacy Services own products and programs that deliver technical innovation for ensuring compliance with high-impact, urgent regulation across Amazon services worldwide. Compliance Operations builds systems and mechanisms to ensure internal customer obsession and adherence to our SLAs. We own the roadmap and reporting mechanisms as well as non-tech compliance programs.
The Senior PM will own the compliance bar raisers communities within Amazon and support the program management of our annual audit and compliance report efforts. The Senior PM will contribute to the strategic direction for Amazon’s privacy practices while executing the compliance approach for individual regulations such as the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). This will require helping to frame, and participating in, high judgment debates and decision making across senior business, technology, legal, and public policy leaders.

A great candidate will have a unique combination of experience with complex and ambiguous regulatory environments, high judgement in prioritization and trade off decisions, and ability to lead effective workstreams including hundreds of stakeholders. You will drive high impact cross-service decisions, gather business requirements, contribute to technical design, and have end to end accountability for delivering compliance efforts across dozens of different teams. The role reports to the Head of Compliance Operations within Amazon Privacy Services. You will have high engagement with WW senior leadership via quarterly reviews, annual organizational planning, and s-team goal updates. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong background in program management and a proven track record for delivering high value business results in ambiguous regulatory environments.

· Own a broad scope and plenty of opportunity to influence strategic direction across Amazon business and engineering teams.
· Act as single threaded business lead accountable for understanding how ambiguous regulatory requirements apply across Amazon businesses.
· Engage with Business, Legal, Compliance and Policy leaders to reach decisions on hotly debated business and compliance topics.
· Hold partner teams accountable for setting and delivering ambitious goals that improve competitive practices within their services.
· Develop detailed end to end working backwards plans to deliver against compliance deadlines.
· Identify inter-team dependencies and align on then monitor paths to address them.
· Build and deliver clear and concise status reporting for senior management.
· Participate in quarterly business review series and s-team goal updates with Senior Vice Presidents.

About the team
The team drives product design, tech development, and program mechanisms required for Amazon to comply with obligations that protect customer personal or sensitive data, and span most or all of the company.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Passion for working with business, technical and operational teams, especially in data privacy and data sharing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
