DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Mgr., Global Contract Risk role is a unique, exciting opportunity that will make a large impact on the Health and Safety of Amazon’s independent contractors who perform hard and soft services to keep Amazon’s facilities, equipment and operations up and running. These activities are often High-Risk Operations (HRO), where the contractor activity can have hazards that must be identified, evaluated and controlled. As the Senior Manager, Global Contract Risk, you will have the ability to set risk tolerance for the business as the subject matter expert for the Global Contract Risk Management standard and procedures. In addition, you will directly support CRM execution with the Global Procurement organization, and support execution from the RME WHS organization to ensure onsite contractor compliance is achieved. The role’s key stakeholders are: RME, WHS, Operations, Procurement Operations, Procurement Category, Ops Engineering, WW Engineering, Ops Construction, R&D, Risk, Legal, TES, Social Responsibility, Sustainability, TOM, and Fleet. The role’s scale will include all Amazon geographical regions (e.g. NA, EU, APAC, MENA, and LATAM) and business units (Global Customer Fulfillment, Amazon transportation Services and Air, and Global Delivery Services. Key job responsibilities
• Set the forward strategy for how Amazon mitigates safety risks of independent contractors through strategic document writing, Operational Planning, Monthly Business Reviews, etc.
• Serve as the field escalation point for contractor incidents, and SME for the Global Contract Risk Management program.
• Develop global CRM strategy for pre-qualification, implementation, contractor incident reduction, etc.
• Provide Sr. Regional leadership with critical risk decision making tools and mechanisms to ensure the safety of contractors and Amazon associates.
• Drive improvements in CRM safety metrics to ensure leaders both at the site level and network level have better visibility to drive improvements.
• Drive ownership of safety through all high-risk organizations by establishing engagement programs.
• Deliver new CRM safety training programs to the network including instructor led for CRM basics, Project Management Tool (PMT), Permit to Work (PTW), Virtual Contractor Orientation (VCO), and Workers Management.
• Deploy or ensure the continuous improvement of core CRM safety programs including Incident Investigation, Reporting and Escalation, Network Safety Alerts, Network Safety HALTS, and Supplier Safety Summit.
• Develop and deploy onsite contractor compliance tools and mechanisms in order to measure CRM success.
• Using the team’s risk register, prioritize resources to work on High Risk Operation (HRO) projects to reduce risk.
• Stay attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of team management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational, Health and Safety or Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), engineering, or other related fields from an accredited university
- Must possess a minimum of 10+ years’ work experience in OSHA, EHS, engineering, contractor management, contractor safety, or providing direct oversight for 3rd party services/contractors.
- Technical or Procedure Writing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Master’s degree preferred
- Extensive experience as an inclusive people leader, who has embraced diversity, equity and inclusion as a people leader and leader of leaders, who has had success in developing, promoting, and leading direct reports
- Development or execution of high-risk safety programs related to engineering, contractors or construction management. Working knowledge of” ISO, IEC, or regulatory requirements or standards, etc. Have or working towards a PE, ASP, CSP or other recognized professional certification
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certified.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to influence and partner with all levels of the organization (associates, managers, directors and vice presidents) and outside external partners.
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Able to travel both domestically up to 40% and internationally 5-10% as necessary to support your team and business partners.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
