DESCRIPTION

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Amazon Web Services is looking for a strong program manager to support US Government customers in the National Security space. This role will work across AWS teams and communicate with customers in order to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

This role is an opportunity to support US Government missions while helping AWS to innovate on behalf of public sector customers.

This role will directly support a contract between AWS and Federal government customers. The Sr. TPM will be responsible for identifying risks and escalating to leadership as appropriate, representing customer use cases and coordinating across a wide array of teams including Engineering teams, Sales, Professional Services and Legal.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
Successful candidates will have a background working with cloud services, experience working with US federal government agencies, and a strong background in program management supporting technical programs. You will successfully represent program status to AWS senior leadership. Your program management expertise and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and scalable solutions. You should be passionate about delivering great customer experiences and researching and developing new delivery methodologies.

Your deep knowledge and expertise working with the customer agency will enable you to represent customer's interests and advise executive level AWS leaders in communications with customer leaders. You should have a deep understanding of AWS services and operations in a classified environment which will help you provide recommendations to engineering leaders. You will scale a program to automate information given to customers. You may interact directly with customers or help prepare AWS leaders for customer meetings.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen. The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience supporting US Federal Government contracts
