Amazon IT Services supports all Amazonians at corporate offices. The IT Client Hardware Product Management team is a critical part of this organization, owning the hardware standards and policies. We discover and develop, qualify, and onboard devices to increase our customers’ productivity potential.
We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team and focus on lab activities to evaluate, test, and qualify new hardware devices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and curiosity to dive deep on all aspects of client hardware. Identifying deficiencies and driving solutions comes naturally. Your work will ensure defect-free new product deployment and empower all Amazonians to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities.

Key job responsibilities
• Deliver, high quality, hands-on diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving issues successfully, evaluating log files to determine the health of systems, software, and hardware
• Participate with partner teams and vendors on continuous improvement projects, defining requirements and managing execution to deliver operational excellence and value
• Support product strategies for IT Services products (internal-facing customers)
• Continuously expand technical skills, learning the latest technologies and maintaining knowledge of IT policies
• Partner with hardware sourcing to deliver products based on roadmaps
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Excellent customer facing skills
• 2+ years of technical experience in a corporate environment supporting Windows, Mac and/or Linux
• 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment
• 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation
• Occasional travel required based on needs of the business
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for process improvement
• Familiarity with IT service management tools and ITIL practices
• Proven ability to develop clear, concise change management and standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $46,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $103,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
