Senior Narrative Designers at Amplify ELA create beautiful and meaningful experiences that delight our young learners and their teachers, inside and outside of the classroom. As a member of Amplify’s design group you will partner with a diverse cross-functional product team of designers, product owners, developers, and curriculum experts to extend and improve Amplify’s curriculum.

Responsibilities of the Senior Narrative Designer:

• Define and craft product story, structure, and voice

• Use story in support of varying product and marketing needs

• Work within the larger product design team

• Develop story outlines

• Write and revise dialogue

• Write and revise scripts

• Design characters

• Drive editorial review

• Provide support and guidance to the narrative design team

• Maintain lines of communication with other departments

• Ensure continuity of product story from inception through releases and iterations

• Ensure that product needs are met in an engaging, effective, and timely manner

• Help build engagement and stickiness into Amplify’s products

Basic Qualifications of the Senior Narrative Designer:

• 5+ years writing scripts and/or dialogue

• 5+ years experience working within a narrative design team

• Experience in digital and/or print product design and production

• Proven expertise in narrative and storytelling

• Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)

• Comfortable with collaborative discussion, listening closely and providing honest, thoughtful feedback to colleagues

• Comfortable with short development cycles and flexible with shifting priorities

• Capable of working on simultaneous projects to meet tight deadlines

• Able to collaborate with a team as well as take initiative and work independently

• Efficient and meticulous in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with narrative in technology-related fields

• Enthusiasm for contributing to the landscape of literacy education

• Game design expertise

• Experience collaborating with engineers

• Experience with Agile processes

• Experience designing desktop and mobile experiences

• Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this role is $66.
