You will be working with a team that participates in the full life cycle of product development from discovery to delivery. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Researching and inventorying existing infrastructure, microservices, and technology used across all product teams
- Developing software engineering standards and guidelines to develop consistency across teams and to drive to a common technology platform
- Interfacing with AWS on efficient adoption of the services they provide
- Researching emerging technologies from AWS and other SaaS providers and evaluating potential adoption
- Collaborating with teams on emerging software development needs, developing requirements and plans for adoption of new services
- Designing and reviewing solutions, helping with complex coding and triaging
- Helping architects and development teams in the design of new services to ensure optimal use of infrastructure to deliver features
- Working closely with security team to ensure that security controls are implemented consistently across all infrastructure services
- Creating technical documents for internal use as well as client facing purposes
- Striving for continuous improvement covering technical aspects as well as processes
- Mentoring developers through training, code reviews, and other forums to continuously improve the team’s skills and mindset
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience in an engineering role
- Experience with Python, Database concepts and SQL language
- Understanding of relational database patterns and concepts
- Experience with web application development (Java, Node.js, Python), JavaScript libraries/frameworks (such as React/Vue, CSS3, HTML5), authentication, CI/CD lifecycles and pipeline
- Experience with cloud technology (AWS Cloud and Azure Cloud preferred)
- Knowledge of BI tools, such as QuickSight, Power BI
- Experience working with software security compliance such as StateRamp, FedRamp
- Knowledge of Common Data Model (CDM) and Common Data Services (CDS)
- Experience working in a Software as a Service model (SaaS)
- Knowledge of REST API design
- Clear and open communication skills
- Ability to see the “big picture”
- Attention to detail, troubleshooting, and analysis skills
- Ability to work on technical and process improvements
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Experience with Snowflake data cloud
- Experience working on multi-tenant solutions
- Experience working in a regionally distributed SCRUM development environment
- High expectations metered with pragmatism and perseverance
- Experience with security standards like FedRAMP and ISO 27000
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer or Data Engineer, or equivalent
- Experience in the education technology market
Pay range is $137,300 - $149,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
