We’re on the lookout for a Radio Planner / Engineer to be responsible for site surveys, radio design validation, overseeing delivery partner activities and ensuring that all radio network elements meet design, performance and compliance standards. Based in our friendly Paddington Office, this position combines hands-on radio engineering with detailed planning and coordination responsibilities.

It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:

  • Supporting the creation and validation of radio designs, including coverage planning, frequency planning and capacity assessments
  • Providing inputs to the Delivery Partner design team to enable them to develop MSV and Low-Level Designs (LLDs)
  • Ensuring alignment of designs with MNO requirements, RF compliance standards and project objectives
  • Conducting detailed site surveys during the facilitation phase to assess existing MNO infrastructure and coverage
  • Overseeing and validating critical design and build activities conducted by the Deployment Partner and the commissioning of the system and active hardware provided and installed by the Delivery Partner
  • Conducting pre-integration checks to ensure readiness for system integration
  • Leading post-integration performance validation and testing
  • Providing initial technical sign-off post-optimisation before final approval by the Radio Solutions Manager
  • Identifying and troubleshooting radio network performance issues during and after deployment
  • Acting as the day-to-day technical point of contact for radio-related matters with the Deployment Partner and MNO technical teams
  • Assisting with technical presentations and design reviews

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrable engineering and radio network planning experience for 4G & 5G technologies
  • Proven experience with DAS, macro and small cell solutions
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-operator and shared infrastructure solutions
  • Strong understanding of RF engineering, propagation and performance compliance
  • Professional degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering discipline
  • Practical hands-on experience with active DAS solutions and deployment on complex sites, covering design, commissioning, optimisation and acceptance testing + QA auditing
  • Experience working within high-profile or complex deployment environments (e.g. stadia, transport hubs, large events)
  • Experience in event-based or temporary telecom deployments
  • Advanced radio planning tool experience (Atol, iBwave etc)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions-oriented mindset
  • High attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence
