About The Role
The Testing and Commissioning Delivery Manager will lead and oversee testing activities, ensuring the quality and reliability of our network solutions and products, including neutral host DAS deployments. This role involves defining testing strategies, managing a team of testers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and high-performing systems. Additionally, the Testing and Commissioning Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the technical performance of a key supplier to ensure compliance with standards and delivery expectations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Programme Implementation: Execute the programme in alignment with the established test plan, ensuring all activities are coordinated and delivered as scheduled.
- KPI Definition & Tracking: Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for testing activities, providing stakeholders with clear updates on progress, risks, and quality metrics.
- Supplier Management: Oversee supplier performance to ensure delivery against the test plan and committed run rates, maintaining strong supplier relationships and accountability.
- MNO Relationship Management: Manage approvals and foster effective relationships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to support project objectives.
- Defect Management: Identify, analyse, and document defects, collaborating with development teams to drive timely resolution and thorough retesting.
- Best Practice & Innovation: Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing methodologies, and champion their adoption within the organization.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of testing processes and tools, driving improvements in product quality and team productivity.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain robust technical relationships with key suppliers, serving as the primary technical point of contact.
- Technical Performance Oversight: Monitor and evaluate supplier technical performance, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Issue Resolution & Escalation: Lead technical investigations and problem-solving efforts related to supplier-provided components or services, escalating and resolving issues promptly.
- Contractual Compliance: Ensure all technical activities comply with contractual terms and conditions, working closely with legal, commercial, and the broader testing and commissioning teams.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks within the supply chain, developing contingency plans and alternative supplier strategies as needed.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular reports on supplier technical performance, quality metrics, and innovation contributions to senior leadership.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers, promoting innovation and identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and enhanced technical capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
- Project Management Certification: A recognised project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is advantageous.
- Mobile Network Operations Experience: Experience working with Mobile Network Operators, either on the supplier or client side.
- Telecommunications Project Delivery: Demonstrated success in managing and delivering telecommunications projects end-to-end.
- On-Site & Health & Safety Expertise: Proven experience working on-site, with a strong focus on Health & Safety (H&S) compliance and best practices.
- Network Testing Expertise: Extensive experience in testing complex network solutions, telecommunications systems, or related infrastructure.
- Walk Testing Equipment: Experience with walk testing equipment is considered an asset.
- Test Strategy & Execution: Skilled in developing and executing test strategies, test plans, and test cases to ensure system robustness.
- Defect Management: Proficient in defect tracking and resolution, ensuring timely identification and closure of issues.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and negotiate effectively.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
