About the Role

Avenues: The World School seeks a Payroll Analyst to join the São Paulo campus. You will be responsible for all payroll processes and systems ensuring Avenues' accuracy and efficiency in compliance with federal and state regulations. You will work closely with a talented team from different areas that include Tax, Finance and People & Culture, as well as be the Payroll focal point for all employees.

As a Payroll Analyst, you will:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations (payroll process, hiring and dismissals processes, documentation control, time clock control, vacations, sick leave, allowances, terminations)

  • Assure the individual pay stubs (holerite) is in compliance with the union agreement and legal regulation

  • Control with People & Culture Department all the information related to employees benefits (e.g. stipends, housing allowance, health insurance)

  • Prepare and deliver (with the support of an external consultant) all information to the tax authorities related to the payroll (e.g. E social, DIRF, CAGED, RAIS)

  • Develop and control the “RPA” (Recibo de Pagamento Autônomo) process

  • Develop a workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

  • Answer employees’ questions about salaries and tax

  • Give support for the US Payroll Manager in the payroll closing process for the US region

About You

You bring all or most of the following:

  • A successful track record as a payroll analyst knowledgeable of wage and hourly laws with more than 5 years of experience;

  • Superbly organized with high attention to detail, analytical skills and accountability;

  • Process Oriented - structures and follows processes, keeping accurate data and records and providing equal treatment for all employees;

  • Discrete - strong ability to deal with very sensitive and confidential information

  • Be an effective communicator when talking to employees both in written and verbal

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to preempt problem and offer solutions

  • Expertise with the Protheus System

  • Expertise in dealing with Accounting processes and month-end close as well as federal, state, local statutory and worker's compensation payroll audits

  • Intermediate English
