Manager, Services PMO

We are looking for seasoned project management professional to lead a team of project managers in the Services PMO. This individual will be supporting our current Technology and Service Delivery portfolio teams, overseeing implementation and business projects, and driving delivery consistency to ensure our projects are completed on time and within budget. This role will be focused on driving down time to value for our customers, providing consistency and visibility on project delivery, mitigating escalations and project risks, implementing continuous improvement practices, and coaching and growing their team and their capabilities. They also ensure all team members uphold the company's standards throughout each project's development and execution. Their responsibilities include managing the day-to-day activities of the project management individual contributors, providing input and guidance on PMO policies and processes, direct oversight of project management staff, and collaborating with clients and other department leaders to effectively deliver projects. To be successful as a PMO Manager, you should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch PMO Manager should be well organized and able to work under pressure.

Staff Management Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of their teams, providing guidance on PMO policies and processes, overseeing project management staff, and collaborating with other department leaders to develop and deliver projects and programs.

  • Cultivate a diverse, high-performing team of project managers that develops, recognizes, and retains the best people.

  • Enable a culture of accountability where all functions within your team align and work in concert with each other to deliver delightful solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Project Management Office Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with other Technology and Services leaders to define, prioritize, and develop project management strategy, governance, and practices

  • Driving Global Services Standardization​

  • Overseeing Project Portfolio Alignment and PM Staffing.

  • Analyzing project delivery data to measure and track team effectiveness and area of improvement

  • Providing project delivery metrics to Technology and Services leadership.

  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.

  • Continuously evaluating project delivery metrics to ensure they are meeting company standards and goals

Business Value and Relationship

  • Monitor and analyze overall program reporting and financial data and ensure reporting is shared appropriately with internal portfolio leaders and senior leadership.

  • Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization

  • Ensure that Blackbaud Corporate and Services standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of each project's development and execution.

Opportunity Management

  • Possess the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change.

  • Lead the adoption and maturation of project management best practices across assigned portfolios supporting transparency and thoughtful orchestration of work.

  • Drive and promote effective process management; identify and pursue opportunities to further operational excellence by increasing efficiency and reducing risk, complexity, waste, and cost.

  • Foster a culture that leverages metrics to make informed decisions and guide change.

Skills

  • Experienced and successful Project Manager

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the industry

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational and technical skills

  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills

  • Able to work effectively independently, as part of a group, and to provide leadership for team members

  • Able to maintain composure in unfamiliar situations

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification may be advantageous

  • Team management experience preferred

The starting base pay is $87,700.00 to $114,200.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, Company finances, and other operational considerations.
