The Payroll Analyst is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for employees in India, ensuring accuracy, compliance with local labor and tax laws, and timely salary disbursement. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in payroll systems, and the ability to collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to optimize payroll execution and reporting.

What you'll do:

  • Processes payroll for employees in India, ensuring salaries are paid accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, taxation policies, and statutory contributions, including EPF, ESI, LWF, TDS, and Professional Tax.
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll data, prepare payroll reports, and support audits and regulatory filings.
  • Stay updated on statutory changes and proactively implement new regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to streamline payroll processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Address payroll-related employee queries and provide clear explanations of pay slip breakdowns, tax deductions, and payroll policies.
  • Support payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements by providing data analysis and testing expertise.

What you'll bring:

  • 2–5 years of experience in payroll processing, in India.
  • Strong understanding of Indian payroll best practices, statutory compliance, and labor/tax laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll and HRIS software (e.g., Workday, Deel) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
