We're looking for a talented analytics thought leader who is passionate about marketplaces and wants to change the way people learn languages. As a Sr. Economist, you will design and build metric frameworks to measure marketplace health, build incentive structures to balance the marketplace, and identify opportunities to reduce wastage in our marketplace. You will also be part of a nascent data community where you will help other analytics team members build and drive adoption of analytics processes that ensure data quality and technical rigor.

5+ years of relevant industry experience and a Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field

Expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R) and SQL

Experience with causal inference and machine learning techniques, ideally in a multi-sided platform setting

Proven ability to tell stories with data that inspires change

Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments

Proven ability to communicate clearly to audiences of varying technical levels and to tell data-stories that inspire change

9+ years of relevant industry experience and a PhD in a quantitative field

Experience with estimating demand/supply systems and designing mechanism to balance a two-sided marketplace

Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods like regression analysis and double machine learning

Experience with an ETL framework

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the expected base salary range for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Compensation Package

$135,000 - $180,000 USD Base Salary + Pre-IPO Stock Options
