Workforce Edge (part of Strategic Education, Inc.) seeks a seasoned, effective leader to take the Workforce Edge Product to the next level in the role of our Group Platform Product Manager / Sr. Manager or Platform Product. The successful candidate will leverage extensive technical expertise and strategic business acumen to drive not only cutting-edge technical solutions from idea through execution, but also transformative strategic initiatives, ultimately shaping the future of our platform.

They will demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, analytical prowess, ability to zoom in and out of fine detail and big-picture strategy, and influence and inspiration of teams to achieve ambitious goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the definition and execution of the product vision and strategy, leveraging deep technical expertise to align with industry standards and emerging technologies, ensuring forward-thinking innovation.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, employing data-driven insights, and collaborating with stakeholders to formulate a thoughtful, impactful, and ruthlessly prioritized product roadmap.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management and executive leadership to develop a holistic product roadmap, integrating clearly defined objectives and key results (OKRs) and success metrics. Employ advanced product and project management methodologies and tools to ensure alignment with technical objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Reconstruct product roadmap as business priorities evolve and roadblocks emerge; socialize and build buy-in to these changes.
  • Communicate the product vision and strategy proactively and transparently to stakeholders across all organizational levels, employing technical acumen to simplify complex concepts and foster alignment.
  • Oversee the development and timely launch of new products and features, employing rigorous project management techniques to ensure adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
  • Leverage advanced data analytics tools and methodologies to gather and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, informing data-driven product enhancements and refinements. Conduct in-depth user behavior analysis to extract actionable insights and optimize product features.
  • Generate and review detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), leveraging technical expertise to articulate precise specifications and requirements that facilitate seamless implementation by design and engineering teams.
  • Cultivate and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, leveraging technical understanding to align product strategies closely with overarching business objectives, fostering collaboration and driving value creation.
  • Propose innovative methodologies and performance metrics for tracking product usage, engagement, and impact on end users, leveraging advanced analytics techniques to measure and optimize product effectiveness.
  • Conduct rigorous analysis to address critical strategic questions and inform overarching business strategy, employing advanced statistical methods and data modeling techniques to derive actionable insights.
  • Develop comprehensive business plans and investment cases for new product creation, leveraging technical expertise to assess feasibility, ROI, and market potential.
  • Build, drive product roadmaps/strategies for new product offerings.
  • Stay up to date (and ahead) of emerging industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in product management, continuously refining strategies and approaches to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses in response to specific business needs, leveraging advanced analytical tools and methodologies to derive actionable insights for stakeholders across all organizational levels, from frontline to C-suite.
  • Lead direct report(s) (e.g., Product Manager(s)) to support execution of key initiatives.

  • Advanced proficiency in ambiguous problem-solving and data analytics, including expertise in tools (e.g., Excel, SQL)
  • Commitment to continuous learning and coaching others to leverage emerging tools and techniques (e.g., PowerBI / data visualization, AI).
  • Strategic assessment of value, meticulous development of use cases, and precise prioritization of features to ensure alignment with overarching strategy and maximum business impact.
  • Comprehensive management of all aspects of the product lifecycle, from inception to delivery and beyond, ensuring sustained product excellence and market competitiveness.
  • Cultivation of robust interpersonal relationships with diverse internal stakeholders and external partners, fostering collaboration and driving alignment with strategic objectives.

Work Experience:

  • 4-8 years of software product management, management consulting, or equivalent experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant field.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
