Looking for the next step up in your EFL teaching career? Our Senior Teacher role could be just the thing if you’re looking to extend or move into a more senior position. Why not gain this experience in our English Language School over the summer. This senior role will give you the opportunity to support other teachers of EFL, in a multicultural environment.


Our school is situated in just a 5-minute walk from the centre of Canterbury, on a full-time, fixed-term contract and we are able to support you with accommodation, perfect if you would like to spend your summer in Canterbury but are not local to the area.

Contract role from late June to mid August with the possibility to extend to start of September 2024.

What’s involved as a Senior EFL Teacher?
  • Assisting our Director of Studies with administration and support

  • Teach when required, although this role focuses more on teaching support and supporting the management team

  • Mentor and support teachers in planning and implementing lessons, including offering advice and materials

  • Assist with timetabling and admin tasks such as syllabus and materials development, Trinity exams etc

  • Working 48 hours over 6 days per week

Some of what you need to become part of the Stafford House Teaching Team:

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent
  • RSA CELTA or Trinity TESOL certificate and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English or MFL, or equivalent*
  • Level of spoken and written English equivalent to CEF level C2/CPE/IELTS 8.0
  • 3 years’ full time experience

Desirable

  • RSA DELTA or Trinity Diploma in TESOL and/or PGCE TEFL/TESOL with experience
  • Previous experience working with/supervising teenagers
  • Previous summer school experience
  • Previous Senior Teacher experience
  • Previous experience of academic management
