Job Description

Bournemouth Collegiate School is a rapidly growing co-educational independent school situated on the south coast. The School has extensive facilities, on two sites. BCS provides a nurturing environment where the happiness of the pupils comes first.

BCS is looking for a professional and talented Teacher of English to join our experienced and supportive English Department.

We are looking for a committed and forward thinking professional who will contribute to the growth of this important subject area. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to be an effective team member and they will show how they have or will contribute strategies and resources to support this growing department.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about the teaching and learning of English, with the vision, commitment and determination to continue raising standards across all levels and abilities and further contribute to the progress of our pupils. A desire and ability to contribute to extra-curricular English activities, such as theatre trips, competitions, our inaugural literary festival and other events is essential.

The department is forward-looking: we constantly explore new ways to engage our pupils and convey a love for the subject. You will inspire and challenge young people to enable them to develop into highly effective, independent learners and achieve their potential as individuals. You must be:
• Ambitious, energetic and enthusiastic
• Committed to raising standards
• Committed to sharing good practice
• Committed to excellence
• Dedicated to achievement for all

We are happy to receive applications from every level of the teaching community; you may be looking for your first teaching post, you may be looking to move schools or areas, you may be looking to return to teaching after a break. Whatever your reason we look forward to receiving your application.
