The HR Advisor is a key position within the People and Engagement Team delivering a professional advice service to a designated area and supporting the HR Business Partners across CATS Global Schools. Working on a hybrid working arrangement based at our Head office in Cambridge or at our school in Canterbury with occasional travel.

Working as part of a proactive, innovative and responsive P&E team, you will provide pragmatic, creative and business focused HR solutions and recommendations along with supporting wider business projects.

You will build and develop relationships with managers and staff at all levels to provide support and guidance on a range of HR matters and share best practice across CATS Global Schools.


HR Advising:

  • Provides support, advice and guidance to line managers and employees in relation to HR policies and procedures, employee relation issues and organisational change.
  • Manage own ER case work, support the HRBP with case work varying from Absences, Grievance and Disciplinary.
  • Support with HR Administration for general queries and employee life cycle.
  • Promotes employee engagement, analysing the data from engagement surveys and working with the schools to proactively implement actions.
  • Champions the completion of good quality annual appraisals and supports any gaps in learning needs.
  • Delivers and supports the business on a wide range of HR projects.
  • Attends as a panel member where required, at interview and selection events for senior candidates and contributes to the decision-making process relating to the most appropriate choice of candidate.

Essential

  • CIPD qualified Level 5/7
  • Good knowledge of employee relations and employment legislation, along with experience of working on range of employee relations aspects
  • Experience of HR Information Systems
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Driven to continually seek out areas for own and business improvement
  • Pro-active approach to work and problem solving, and the ability to spot and deal with issues as they occur
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft office

Desirable

  • Experience within education sector
  • Experience and / or training in safeguarding regulations and practice
