Job Description

As a Student Services Officer at Stafford House International in Canterbury, your role involves supporting our students, solving problems, delivering excellent customer service, and warmly welcoming students as they arrive at our school.

You will be part of a dedicated team, working at our school’s reception. We are a fast-paced, vibrant English Language School located just a five-minute walk from Canterbury city center.

Each year, we welcome hundreds of international students, providing them with accommodation while they learn English in the classroom and engage in a variety of fun activities and excursions. As the first point of contact for students, you will address their questions on topics ranging from accommodation to welfare and help them adjust to life in the UK. Additionally, you will manage administrative tasks, including bookings and other office-related duties.

In addition to our year-round programs, we also run a busy summer school from mid-June to August. During this period, we may ask you to work overtime on a rota basis, for which you will receive additional pay or time off.

Here’s a little of what it takes to be a Student Services Officer:
  • Some experience of working in front of house, in reception or in a school would be helpful

  • A can-do attitude is essential. You’ll need to think on your feet and enjoy problem-solving

  • You will need to be a skilled communicator

  • Have excellent customer service skills and be able to support our students with confidence and sensitivity

  • You will be comfortable working with databases and MS Office packages and have good numeracy skills.

  • You must be willing to take part in the Out of Hours phone on a rota basis, for which you are compensated additionally.
