JOB OVERVIEW
We take great pride in our appearance, and the cleaning team play a crucial part in this ensuring a professional, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors. As a Cleaning Supervisor you will be responsible for the management (including training) of the cleaning team ensuring that all cleaning tasks are undertaken to the highest standard. In addition, you will be required to ensure that cleaning supplies and stock are maintained and procured within budget. Lastly, you will be responsible for undertaking health and safety checks including COSHH to support the cleaning services. This role will report directly into the Operations Manager and plays a vital part in the overall Operations Team of the school which is made up of three departments: Cleaning, Catering and Maintenance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
- Partake in the daily/weekly cleaning duties and upkeep of school teaching buildings and boarding house residences. Cleaning duties includes, but is not limited to: dusting surfaces, wiping door handles, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning restrooms, showers & residence communal kitchens, emptying bins, and replenishing consumables.
- Ensure there are consistently high operating standards by the team in every area of the cleaning department by carrying our regular quality checks
- Manage the purchase of cleaning equipment and materials within prescribed budgets, ensuring stock levels meet business demands.
- Analyse monthly financial reports to ensure costs are allocated correctly and inline with the approved budget and report discrepancies as directed.
- Carry out departmental risk assessments, implement identified control measures and document accordingly.
- Implement the Group’s Health and Safety policies.
- Keep up to date with Health and Safety legislation and Health and Safety Executive directives applicable to your operation and brief staff as appropriate.
- Assist with the recruitment and appointment of cleaning staff.
- Ensure staffing levels cover business demands.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Cleaning experience in a supervisory role
• Good level of commercial awareness and cost control capabilities
• Competent with using computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Office
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills (English level B1 minimum) and teamwork attitude
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work on your own initiative.
• Able to follow instructions and adhere to processes
• A proactive, pragmatic approach to problems and challenges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Energetic and enthusiastic
• The role may involve standing/walking for extended periods and lifting items. Reasonable adjustments
