Job Description
Join one of our esteemed EFL summer schools in Bloomsbury, Central London or Northampton this summer as an IELTS Teacher.
Share your expertise in English language instruction, help students reach their academic and professional goals, and become part of a dedicated and inspiring teaching community between late June to late July 2025.
Each summer, Stafford House Study Holidays welcome over 6000 international, young students (aged 8-17) from all over the world. During their 7-14 day stay, we provide a vibrant activities and excursions programme, alongside stimulating English language lessons in the classroom. It's a great opportunity to work with a range of ages, levels of ability and students from a multi-cultural environment.
This role focuses specifically on IELTS teaching, helping to prepare our students to succeed in IELTS by developing their skills in all 4 papers. You'll complete all required marking and administration to a high standard and have an option to assist in preparing and leading activities and excursions as required (optional – pay rate TBC)
Location and dates:
London, Bloomsbury - 4 weeks in July 2025 (exact dates TBC)
Bosworth School in Northampton - 4 weeks in July 2025 (exact dates TBC)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week over 5 days
Pay: £720.43 per week plus holiday entitlement which includes preparation and marking
Accommodation: We are able to provide you with board and accommodation without charge, upon request in Northampton. Perfect if you are not local to try something new for summer!
Our class sizes are small: 15 students on average
We support you: We provide your lesson materials to support our fun and varied syllabus. We also provide CPD, appraisals and observations, as well as an experienced and supportive academic management team.
Incentives: *Experienced Teaching staff completing a minimum of 4 weeks work during summer 2024 may be eligible to apply for free DELTA module 1 course, run by Stafford House International, London. *T&Cs apply.
Teachers should have a degree or equivalent and have Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English or MFL, or equivalent *DELTA/ DipTESOL or equivalent MA qualification desirable
Level of spoken and written English equivalent to CEFR level C2/CPE/IELTS 8.0
Experience of teaching using Interactive Whiteboards and Digital Teaching Platform is preferred
Experience of working with young learners
Be collaborative, have a passion for teaching and EFL
Have a working knowledge of safeguarding practices
You must already have the right to work in the UK
