Our ethos is one that believes in the importance of the individual and celebrates success regardless of the level. Students come from a wide variety of countries and are motivated and aspirational, mostly aiming for Russell Group and Oxbridge.

JOB OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Business and Economics to join the BECS Department at Bosworth Independent School. The position is available from January 2027; however, flexibility in the start date may be considered for the successful candidate. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and early submission is strongly encouraged. The school reserves the right to appoint before the advertised closing date.

The BECS Department is a central part of Bosworth’s dynamic and diverse learning community. Our students come from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds and are polite, motivated, and eager to learn and Business and Economics are popular subjects with them. Class sizes are typically small (averaging around eight students), allowing teachers to provide personalised support, ensure deep understanding of key concepts, and foster a classroom environment where students feel confident to ask questions and think critically.

The department is made up of experienced, supportive, and collaborative teachers who are passionate about their subjects and committed to enabling students to achieve their full potential, encouraging a curiosity in their subjects and the Bosworth community as a whole.

Professional development is a key priority at Bosworth. Staff benefit from a wide range of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities designed to enhance subject expertise and explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Business and Economics are taught through the Pearson examination board at both GCSE (iGCSE) and A Level. The department also delivers a subject-specific University Foundation Programme (UFP) in Business and Economics, with full support provided for teaching staff. Additionally, Business is taught at Year 9 through a bespoke, tailored syllabus.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring teacher who can teach Business and Economics up to and including A Level. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs.
