Job Description
We’re looking for experienced CELTA Trainers who enjoy supporting others to develop their teaching practice, and who value flexibility alongside high-quality, in-person training.
Locations: Centrally based in Cambridge, London & Canterbury
Course details: 27 contact hours per week | 4-week courses | Sessional contract
At Stafford House International, we deliver high-quality, in-school CELTA training from our centres in Cambridge, London and Canterbury.
We’re looking for experienced CELTA Teacher Trainers to join our pool on a sessional basis, delivering intensive 4-week courses of approximately 27 contact hours per week.
This is a great opportunity to work in a focused, professional training environment while maintaining flexibility around your other commitments.
As one of our CELTA trainers, there may also be opportunities to teach online courses, in addition to in-person training.
Delivering CELTA training courses in line with Cambridge requirements
Supporting and assessing trainee teachers throughout the course
Contributing to candidate selection and interviews
Providing clear, constructive feedback to support trainee development
Working collaboratively with an experienced academic team
Options available for MCT (Main Course Tutors) and ACT (Assistant Course Tutors)
Flexible, sessional work available in the heart of Cambridge, Canterbury or central London

First degree (or equivalent)
DELTA or equivalent Diploma (required)
Approved and active CELTA (or CertTESOL) Trainer status
Experience of CELTA candidate selection
Experience of delivering at least three CELTA (or equivalent) courses
Broad teaching experience (e.g. exam preparation, EAP, Business English)
Strong organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills
Confident using Microsoft Office and digital platforms
Ability to complete pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment and KCSIE 2025
