About the Job
Checkr, Inc. seeks Software Engineer II in San Francisco, CA:

Job Duties: Research, design, and develop computer and network software. Analyze user needs, propose software solutions to address them. Write, review, and address comments in software design documents. Develop data and layout schema driven UI generators to help efficiently implement regional compliance requirements. Work in a collection of microservices. Create schema for and maintain data in both SQL and NoSQL databases. Utilize Message Queues for asynchronous tasks. Partner with user experience engineers, program managers and product managers to plan and deliver software features. Analyze proposed software features for data privacy and security compliance. Evaluate and remedy security vulnerabilities in existing software systems on a continuous basis. Collaborate with Software and Software Quality Engineers to create test plans and automate test execution. Support existing features in production, including monitoring software systems, triaging customer issues, and resolving product defects. Be a subject matter expert in user facing features, help mentor other software engineers, review and suggest improvements in their code. Help recruit, interview, and mentor new software engineering employees. Document, present, and demo software features. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Checkr offices may be required.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or closely related quantitative discipline and three (3) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Ruby, (2) Data modeling, SQL and NoSQL databases; (3) Asynchronous systems and message queuing; (4) encrypted communication and secure storage of sensitive data; (5) JavaScript; (6) Go; (7) React (8) Redux. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Checkr offices may be required.

Salary: $159,025.00 - $178,825.00 per annum.
