Senior Principal BI Engineer - India

Senior Principal BI Data Engineer | Mumbai, Pune or Hyderabad | Hybrid

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Principal BI Engineer to join our India team. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Business Intelligence and collaborating cross-functionally with Data Engineering and Analytics leaders, this role calls for an innovative thinker with deep experience in Tableau and other BI platforms. In this role you will…

Champion adoption of Tableau across a range of business functions.
Drive effective migration strategies and implementations between various BI tools.
Partner with stakeholders across Finance, HR, Operations, and more to design, develop, and deliver innovative dashboards and reports.
Craft, optimize, and manage large-scale BI solutions, using best-in-class data visualization techniques.
Write and review complex SQL queries as needed, collaborating with Engineering to ensure performance and data quality.
Troubleshoot BI and data issues with a sense of urgency, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
Mentor and support junior BI engineers, reviewing work, and sharing best practices.
Lead Tableau enablement for business teams, encouraging self-service reporting and data-driven decisions.
Clearly communicate progress, risks, and metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences.


You have what it takes if you have…

Advanced expertise in Tableau (Tableau Desktop, Prep, Server, Online) and deep knowledge of the Tableau ecosystem.
Tableau Certification(s) strongly preferred.
Proven experience migrating reports and workflows between BI platforms (such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.).
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Hands-on skill writing advanced SQL queries for analysis and data engineering purposes.
7+ years of experience in BI engineering, report/dashboard development, and data analysis.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with an ability to partner across teams and mentor peers.
Consistent, dependable delivery and a strong sense of team responsibility.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.


Extra dose of awesome if you have…

Experience with scripting (Python, R) for analytics or automation.
Knowledge of enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
Experience with ETL tools (such as Fivetran, Informatica, or DBT).
Exposure to advanced analytics or data science projects.
Strong aptitude for training and building data culture within organizations.
