Location: We are specifically seeking a candidate working in Texas.
The Assessment Implementation Director (Southwest) will partner with districts and state departments of education to share how our programs meet their assessment needs. This individual will collaborate with district and state leaders to develop assessment plans and help districts overcome assessment, research, and measurement challenges. Using their deep understanding of district and state assessment needs, the Director will work cross-functionally with our Sales and Service teams to ensure high-quality implementations and drive academic results for client districts.
The impact you'll have:
- Develop relationships with top school district assessment and curriculum directors to understand their assessment needs and help them develop solutions.
- Serve as a peer-level advisor to district leaders in Assessment, Research, and Measurement roles.
- Deliver key presentations virtually or in-person to educate individuals about our assessments and how they fit into a district’s overall assessment plan.
- Consult district administrators on common use cases such as: using i-Ready assessments can be for RTI/MTSS, screening, benchmarking, instructional guidance, and accountability.
- Establish collaborative, productive working relationships with the i-Ready Assessment and Product teams to gain an in-depth understanding of our assessment programs; share district insights with product leaders to inform future development.
- Serve as an expert on the company’s products, the issues faced by assessment directors and classroom educators, and the latest educational assessment trends at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Provide leadership and engagement in addressing account- or state-level issues; escalate issues as needed and serve as a resource in helping to resolve issues and communicate those resolutions.
- Be a role model during every interaction and communication, upholding Curriculum Associates' values.
- Develop clear and compelling content that helps build educators’ understanding of our Assessment products and equips them to develop successful implementation plans.
- Partner with Account Management, PD, Sales, and Government Relations to identify common problems of practice and offer suggestions based on what worked with specific implementations.
Who we're looking for:
- Deep understanding of assessment development or psychometrics and the communication of technical information to K-12 educators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional interest in the creation of compelling content and presentations.
- An empathetic listener who understands the problem from the educators’ perspective and offers innovative solutions.
- Expert-level understanding of education policy and assessments.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-centric skills; demonstrated ability to serve as an expert and build trust with sophisticated clients.
- Proven ability to learn and incorporate new and complex concepts quickly.
- Ability to work independently, with some direction, and collaboratively, in a team environment.
- High attention to detail, receptive to feedback and strong self-awareness of the impact of their message and how it may be received by educators.
- Effective decision-making, ownership, and accountability.
- Able to handle ambiguity and favorably navigate through stressful situations and pressing deadlines
- Demonstrate integrity, ethical standards, and a professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multitask.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability.
- Proficient with Programs and Applications like Outlook, SalesForce.com, Microsoft Office Suite products.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in relevant area required. Ph.D. preferred.
- Expertise using assessment data in K-12 education settings.
- Proven ability to build a deep understanding of complex products and services.
- Excellent consultative skills.
- Exceptionally well-qualified candidates will have experience building district-level assessment plans and navigating measurement and accountability topics with state departments of education.
Travel: Travel ranging from 50-70%, depending on the time of year, is required and considered an essential function of this role. Travel includes overnight stays at hotels and transportation via car, plane, and public transportation.
Location: This position will be required to cover the state of Texas and nearby areas, providing live support to districts in the region.
Benefits and Pay Range:
Pay Range – This role’s range is $93,250 - $166,250. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
