Substitute Teacher Job Description: Substitute Teachers perform a variety of duties in assisting a licensed teacher in the implementation and support of instructional programs for students in a group or one-on-one setting. Prepares instructional materials, maintains classroom discipline, and leads planned activities designated by a licensed teacher. Helps maintain a positive school-wide learning environment.

OASIS is a behavior intervention program in McMinnville at the WESD Yamhill Center for students in grades 1-12. Academic instruction is individualized for students in this program. Additional training may be provided.

Quest Adult School is a program for students ages 18-21 who are patients living in the Oregon State Hospital in Salem. Student attending Quest are working on a very individualized curriculum that is specific to their needs. Additional required training is provided.

Substitute Teacher Requirements:

• Hold a valid and active Oregon teaching license, or:
• Obtain a Standard Substitute Teaching License by holding an expired Oregon or out of state teaching license, or:
• With a district sponsorship, obtain a Restricted Substitute Teaching license by holding at least a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent, verified by sealed official transcripts Pass an FBI and Oregon criminal background clearance (included as part of the state licensing process)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $245.00 per day
