EF Boston is seeking an organized, energetic, and service-driven Residence Manager to lead our student housing operations. This role is central to ensuring an exceptional residential experience for our international students—balancing logistics, safety, customer service, and team leadership in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

You’ll oversee everything from occupancy planning and facilities to student well-being and team management, while building a welcoming and well-run community for 200+ residents. This position reports to the Director of Housing and works closely with global sales offices and on-campus staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the on-campus student residence, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the front desk team and live-in Resident Advisors (RAs).
  • Manage room assignments, bookings, and occupancy to optimize space and maximize efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison to EF’s global sales offices—communicate availability, confirm bookings, and promote the residence.
  • Enforce housing policies and handle disciplinary matters with fairness and professionalism.
  • Develop and maintain systems for maintenance, cleaning, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure student safety and maintain building security at all times.
  • Ensure student welfare through crisis planning, safety drills, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Monitor budgets, manage supplier relationships, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Launch initiatives to enhance student life and improve guest satisfaction.
  • Support wider campus activities and participate in the emergency phone rotation.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage staff and build community.
  • Highly organized with sharp attention to detail.
  • Flexible and composed under pressure—able to handle emergencies and dynamic daily challenges.
  • Comfortable working with diverse international populations.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
  • Positive, resourceful, and people-focused with a sense of humor and empathy.
