General Manager – EF International Language Campus, Tokyo

The Opportunity: General Manager
As General Manager, you will lead a high-volume, fast-paced international campus delivering a high-quality student experience to customers from around the world.
This is a highly operational leadership role, combining service excellence, team performance, and day-to-day execution in a culturally complex environment. You will oversee multiple departments including academics, student services, accommodation, and activities, ensuring a seamless and consistent customer experience.
This role requires a leader who can operate effectively across cultures - building trust with a local Japanese team while driving international standards, pace, and expectations.
We are looking for a resilient, hands-on operator who can build strong teams, drive accountability, and quickly identify and address operational gaps in a fast-moving environment.
Your Impact
Leadership & Culture
  • Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams across multiple departments
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration
  • Balance international operating standards with local workplace expectations
Operations & Performance
  • Drive operational performance across all departments with strong execution discipline
  • Identify issues quickly and implement practical, scalable solutions
  • Ensure consistent delivery across accommodation, activities, and student services, especially during peak periods
Financial Ownership
  • Own and manage the campus P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Ensure delivery against financial targets while maintaining high service standards
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading operations and managing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, education, or other service-led environments
  • Experience managing budgets and financial performance
  • Fluency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is essential
