Title: Director of Studies

Reports to: Center General Manager (solid line) and Central Education Team (dotted line)

Job Role:

A Director of Studies (DoS) is responsible for managing education services within their center.

Specifically, this role oversees the quality and quantity of education services so as to provide students and potential students with a consistent industry-leading experience. This is accomplished through a focus on people development, production efficiency, and cross-function collaboration.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Certifications: CertTESOL/CELTA (or equivalent) required; DipTESOL/DELTA preferred

Experience: 1+ years of management experience in ESL/TEFL; 3+ years of adult TEFL teaching

experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Leads the drive at the center level to ensure quality of education services provided to students is

of an industry-leading standard with a focus on consistent improvement.

• Works with Center General Manager and other stakeholders on teacher schedules to ensure the

quantity of classes meets customer needs, while ensuring efficient use of teacher time.

• Provides performance management, support, mentorship, training, talent management and

coaching to teachers in-center as per company expectations. Ensures teachers are being

provided with interventions designed to support and develop their professional skills.

• Collaborates within the center to enhance potential and existing students’ experience, including

via focus on EF Methodology, student community, English Environment, and student motivation.

• Acts as a role-model for conduct, leadership and teaching within the center and nation.

• Undertakes all necessary human resources and administrative duties at the center level.

• Works with all staff to ensure the center is maintained to an appropriate standard, including

creating a welcoming and professional environment and adhering to center image guidelines.

• Works with stakeholders to support potential and existing customer needs and address student

queries and complaints.

• Actively contributes to content development, product testing, and relevant national projects to

support departmental goals.

• Teaches 60 classes per month, depending on center needs.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Quarterly Center Net Internal Revenue Commission

• Quarterly Center Seats Taken per Class Achievement Bonus

• Monthly Individual Teaching Hours
