About the Opportunity

The Senior Solutions Consultant is responsible for all technical, solution, and competitive aspects of the sales cycle. The Senior SC will work, in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, and Product Managers, to align and map customers pain points and goals into a value selling methodology that captures the strategic elements of the solution being presented and long-term partnership opportunities with Ellucian. Working with the Latin America and Caribbean GTM teams, you’ll build strong relationships with new and existing customers, bring innovation and thought leadership to our engagements and drive revenue growth. You’ll build breadth and depth of knowledge in higher education solutions and will be instrumental in helping higher education institutions achieve their organizational goals internally and externally while leveraging our solutions.   
Where you will make an impact   

  • Understand the unique needs of higher education institutions, identify the right solutions and communicate the value these bring to their institutions through remote and onsite demonstrations
  • Participate in strategy and discovery onsite and/or remote engagements that build relationships and acquire a deep knowledge of prospective customer business issues and processes by asking strategic questions to form an understanding of pain points, redundancies, process gaps, and perceived value 
  • Build credibility with staff, administration, and key decision-makers as a subject matter and solution expert
  • Prepare tailored demonstrations and solution sets that map to the customer’s needs based on discovery findings, and research
  • Develop scripts and demonstration stories that align with customer prioritized needs
  • Deliver solution demonstrations and presentations that map to customer needs and aligns to the team's sales strategy and approach 
  • Must be able to clearly articulate specific needs to internal technical resources when reports, analytics, workflows, or other new, customer-specific items are required
  • Assist in the production of content to the library of internal and customer-facing recorded demonstrations and other resources
  • Create and maintain demonstration materials such as PowerPoint presentations and other tools
  • Manage, build and maintain key cyclical business processes within the demonstration environment
  • Serve as a key internal resource in educating the Sales division on product updates
  • Must cross-train on other solutions as deemed appropriate by management to broaden skills and solution coverage for the solution consulting team
  • Will serve as an active member and subject matter expert as to internal product team committees
  • Represent Ellucian at industry and user group meetings, and conferences

What you will bring 

  • 5+ years of experience in higher education administration or related sales experience in higher education. Preferably in the Student/Academic Services area. (Admissions/Recruiting, Registrar, Student Services, etc.) and/or previous experience in a Presales environment
  • Working knowledge of the Banner Student System is mandatory
  • Demonstrated understanding of current industry trends and issues in higher education
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills 
  • Passion for presenting solutions to critical business issues and problems
  • Able to articulate and logically communicate concepts both technically and functionally
  • Able to prioritize the work and possess strong project management skills
  • Able to meet deadlines, follow up on commitments, and take action as needed
  • Flexibility to travel within Latin America and the Caribbean region, when needed.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
