In 2023, Embodied Labs was honored to be among 70 recipients of the CalGrows Innovation Fund by the California State Department of Aging. This program has an overall goal to catalyze organizations that have a unique approach and proven results in educating, upskilling, and compensating direct care workers and family/friend caregivers to create a more resilient, equitable, and equipped workforce. Embodied Labs has received funds to scale our proven model for caregiver training across the state of California through our aging services enterprise partners by providing our partners with training and access to our immersive platform. Between now and September 2024, Embodied Labs aims to partner with mission-aligned companies and organizations to train a minimum of 5,000 direct caregivers and 100,000 family and friend caregivers in California.

We are excited to share that we are looking to contract-to-hire a dynamic leader to spearhead and oversee a grant program serving caregivers in the state of California. The Grant Program Lead will own, manage, and evolve the existing strategy and execution to reach the impact goals of the program. In doing so, the Grant Program Lead will work closely with the executive leadership team, every function within the company, and external partners to ensure Embodied Labs delivers the impact goals outlined in the grant. With exceptional execution, this candidate has the potential to impact 100,000+ individuals across the state of California.


  • Guide the existing strategy for the CalGrows program at Embodied Labs to successfully hit the targets of the grant program on-time and on-budget.
  • Create a comprehensive roadmap/project plan with individual work streams that pull in resources across all functions of the company.
  • Ensure program results and pivot strategy/execution when necessary.
  • Determine the individuals, partners, systems, and financial investments required to achieve targets and program success.
  • Oversee the cross-functional Project Plan and its execution.
  • Manage the program budget tied to the grant.
  • Maintain regular internal and external communications with the team, executive champions, State representatives, and other stakeholders up and down the partnership spectrum.


  • Previous work engagements with healthcare providers and organizations
  • Project Management experience/certification
  • P&L management experience
  • Intrinsic motivation, resiliency, and a genuine desire to serve
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a willingness to adopt and implement new ideas and methods.
  • Proficiency in partner relationship management
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Residency in California
  • Done business with organizations that serve caregivers, including state & local governments, HCBS, and caregiver advocacy organizations.
  • An understanding of marketing approaches and best-practices.
  • Previous SaaS experience.
  • Previous scale-up experience at a pioneering company or organization.
  • Embodies a high level of warmth, friendliness, charisma, and professionalism while possessing strong accountability, interpersonal communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced start-up/scale-up environment.
  • Possesses a genuine passion for shaping the future of healthcare and strong desire to see the company accomplish its mission and vision to its fullest potential.

Additional information

Job Compensation & Benefits: Compensation: $70-$85/hr, commensurate to past experience

Contract-to-Hire (6 months) with a possible opportunity for full-time employment. Opportunities for professional growth and development
