The Opportunity
For our CFO Consulting team, we are looking for experienced professionals, excited about growing their careers through assisting clients in accounting and regulatory reporting, specific accounting technical topics and issues, finance and business controlling, financial planning and analysis and cost management. By performing end-to-end support and cultivating EY talent, we play a key role in building the future of finance in the Financial Services sector. In this job, you will thus be in the front row to delivering projects that address the CFO’s most significant challenges.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant, you will collaborate with our clients to understand the challenges that face their business and help implement a tailored solution. You will also contribute to the development of the competence team and EY as a whole.
You will serve key clients in the Financial Services sector, supporting them to respond to stakeholders’ expectations with respect to financial, regulatory and management reporting (content, compliance, efficiency, quality and controls). You will have the opportunity to make a real difference within EY CFO Consulting during a time of exciting growth and help build trust in a changing economic and regulatory environment.
Some examples of how you will drive our client’s finance department to the next level:
• Improving the closing, consolidation and reporting cycle
• Executing the reporting and consolidation processes via temporary support
• Enhancing the decision making process by optimizing the budgeting and forecasting processes
• Supporting in the implementation of new standards
• Conducting analyses on accounting figures, management and regulatory reporting
• Providing technical advice to ad-hoc queries from clients and internal staff as needed
Skills and Attributes for Success
• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. applied economics, commercial engineer) or equivalent through experience.
• Between 2 and 5 years of relevant experience, in financial (Belgian Gaap / IFRS), regulatory (CoRep/FinRep/RRP/Solvency II) or management reporting in Banking and/or Insurance
• Knowledge of USGAAP, CRR and/or IFRS 9/17 is a plus
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail
• Solid communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear, comprehensible communication to a broad audience
• Proficient level of business English and fluent in Dutch/French
• Adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit
