IT Advisor, Technology Consulting, Digital and Emerging Technologies

The opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced organization. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for automating and optimizing our development and production environments, working closely with developers and IT staff to oversee code releases, and integrating new technologies and methodologies into our workflow. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, passionate about improving processes through innovative solutions, and committed to creating robust, scalable infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems.
• Automate and streamline our operations and processes for code deployment and system configurations.
• Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments.
• Design, develop, and implement software integrations based on user feedback.
• Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
• Employ an array of technological tools and platforms to maintain system health and security.
• Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve the organization's IT development and deployment processes.
• Provide technical guidance and educate team members on development and operations.
• Document and design various processes; update existing processes.
• Improve infrastructure development and application development.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
• 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration, and AWS.
• Experience with databases such as SQL , MySQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, and/or Mongo.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Python, Bash.
• Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Experience in working with Puppet or Chef for automation and configuration.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain protocol and processes with the team and management.
• Familiarity with network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, FTP).
• Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies is a plus
