We are looking for a dedicated Project Manager with expertise in data analytics to join our team. As a Project Manager in this role, you will lead and oversee data analytics projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate closely with data analysts, scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery that meets business objectives and enhances decision-making capabilities through data insights.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate resources and tasks effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage project dependencies, risks, and issues; develop mitigation strategies as needed.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding project status, issues, and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and status updates to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams including data analysts, scientists, and IT professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring clarity on roles, responsibilities, and project objectives.

Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Oversee the execution of data analytics activities, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to interpret data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and report on key metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify deviations from plan and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to management and stakeholders.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is a plus.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Consulting experience and background, including engaging directly with clients
  • Experience in a delivery role on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data or analytics projects
