Job Description – Master Security Description IT Developer
Position Description
This position is for a Development Team member in Morgan Stanley Security Reference Data (SRD) department in Bangalore.
The candidate will be part of a team of developers, designing, coding and supporting the MSD application. MSD stores consolidated Security and End-of-Day Pricing information and acts as the reference source for more than 700 applications across the firm. MSD sources data from several Market data vendors and internal sources. MSD data and technology enable the Firm to automate security setups and gauge its portfolio from a compliance and strategic investment perspective. MSD Master houses ~4 million securities.
Applicants and sourcing agencies should note that this is a very hands-on technical role. The candidate will be required to participate in all phases of the SDLC lifecycle (i.e. develop new and enhance existing processes, perform code reviews, test software, participate in application architecture and design). There will be a short training period for the candidate to become familiar with the application suite and gain functional knowledge.
The candidate should expect to function as part of a global team across Asia and the Americas and have responsibility for more than one project.
Qualifications
- The applicant should have at least 7+ years of experience performing design, technical analysis and construction of quality COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL and CICS solutions. Knowledge of MQ is a plus.
- The applicant should have at least 7+ years of work history in application development, preferably in Financial Services or Wealth Management.
- The applicant should have experience in a structured SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process; Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Production implementation.
- Knowledge of QA Procedures, guidelines and controls.
