Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Architect with a strong background in both advisory and implementation within the data center domain. The ideal candidate should have experience in data center design, facility standards, architecture, tiering, hosting, co-location, hybrid cloud setups, connectivity, and consolidation. The DC Architect will be responsible for delivering comprehensive projects that include data center facility assessments, site audits, design, layouts, and understanding of both passive (cooling, racks, cabling, HVAC, etc.) and active (servers, storage, backup, networks, etc.) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of data center and disaster recover solutions that meet client requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough data center facility assessments and site audits to identify areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Develop data center layouts and designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide expertise on data center tiering and recommend appropriate solutions based on client needs.
  • Advise on and implement hybrid cloud setups, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises data center resources and public cloud services.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of data center connectivity solutions, including network architecture and bandwidth considerations.
  • Manage data center consolidation projects, optimizing infrastructure and reducing operational costs.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their hosting and co-location requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data center infrastructure and operations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including facilities management, IT, and security, to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Document all aspects of data center architecture and provide detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 11-12 years of experience in data center architecture and operations, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center facility standards and infrastructure, including cooling, power distribution, racks, cabling, and HVAC systems.
  • Strong understanding of data center active infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, backup solutions, and network hardware.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCS, CDCE, CCNA, VCP-DCV) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
