The Position:
Position General Summary:
Under direction of the Senior Manager, Professional Standards, the Professional Standards Technician performs functions specific to supporting the Professional Standards Department within FLVS. The Professional Standards Technician performs general day to day coordination of Professional Standards administrative functions, including records management and support. The Professional Standards Technician is classified as a confidential employee and must hold all work-related information in the strictest confidence.
Essential Position Functions:
Assist in coordinating and maintaining calendar/schedule for the Professional Standards Department
Assist with all administrative aspects of the Professional Standards Department to include creating final documents from notes or outlines including letters, memos, project summaries, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, presentations, and spreadsheets
Assist department with maintaining all Professional Standards records to include scanning, storage, retention, and destruction in Electronic Records Management System (ERMS)
Conduct manual search in the Department of Education’s Disqualification List data base for all new hires, contractors, and vendors; conduct other verifications as needed
Assist with background screening process for all employees; to include other states requiring FLVS to comply with their requirements
Assist in the transfer process for current staff as needed
Provide coverage for the Professional Standards Department in the absence of staff members
Escalate concerns or issues with service, documentation, process, or systems to appropriate parties
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Associate’s degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
2 years Human Resources/clerical experience, preferably in Professional Standards/Employee Relations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):
Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of administration related to the area of Human Resources- Employee Relations/Professional Standards
Knowledgeable of current applicable federal, state, school district laws, codes and regulations related to the area of Human Resources- Employee Relations/ Professional Standards
