The Position:
POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Technician, Expense Management performs site-based duties in support of Business Services Department. The position is responsible for providing quality customer service to FLVS and external clients. The Senior Technician, Expense Management assists the expense team with a number of duties including, but not limited to, those related to the maintenance of the travel/expense reimbursement system; the e-Payables and purchasing card reconciliation system; and, the finance and human resource software management system.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Maintains statistical data for companywide travel and expenditures.
Develops spreadsheets, analyzes results and reports findings to Expense Management Manager.
Maintains and monitors transactions posted to the Enterprise Spend Platform system on a daily basis.
Collaborates with the budget office to keep system coding options accurate and communicate coding information to appropriate staff.
Assists with data entry and documentation in the Enterprise Spend Platform.
Reviews and processes expense reports in the Concur system for approval ensuring FLVS policy, state statute, and IRS compliance.
Coordinates the distribution of new purchasing cards and appropriate training materials.
Provides a high level of customer service and system training that includes assisting staff and any other internal/external customers.
Assists the expense team with data requests from auditors related to expenses and purchasing card transactions.
Maintains a thorough understanding of Florida State Statutes associated with travel; stays abreast of industry trends and best practices related to government purchasing and expense management.
Assists the expense team with travel and expense research requests from departments, as needed.
Reviews and makes recommendations on FLVS travel and expense policies and procedures.
Supports and ensures staff compliance with FLVS travel and expense policies and procedures.
Supports FLVS IT help desk operations by analyzing and resolving escalated back office issues related to travel and expense applications.
Creates, reviews, and updates department standard operating procedures.
Provides product line expertise on application functionality and product customization.
Reconciles expense transactions and prepares downloads for travel expense reimbursement and P-card transactions.
Performs other duties as required by the Executive Director of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Associate’s Degree; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
Three (3) years’ experience in a finance related or customer service field.
Concur Travel and Expense experience, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge in computer use to enter, retrieve, review and modify data.
Knowledge and skill utilizing word processing, database and software programs.
Ability to compile, review, categorize, prioritize, analyze and interpret data and/or information.
