In partnership with educators, government agencies, and community leaders across the nation, Graduation Alliance provides versatile pathways to high school graduation for youth and adults, fosters college and career exploration, and connects job creators to skilled and ready workers. Since 2007, Graduation Alliance has worked with more than 650 state agencies, school districts, community colleges, and workforce boards around the country to recruit, re-enroll, educate, and mentor students. Graduation Alliance also operates The American Academy, an exemplary online high school that is fully accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission, a division of Cognia.
Our full-service diploma completion programs can be delivered in facility-based, blended, or fully online settings. These programs are supported with recruiting, transcript analysis, technology, coaching and mentoring, and robust support services.
We also develop and facilitate skill certification packages with tailored support to students of all ages. In coordination with local and national employers, we offer work experience, internship programs and job placement. And we partner with institutions to provide pathways to post-secondary education and career training, complete with preferential enrollment, dual credit opportunities, and early financial aid reviews.

Position Title: Teacher

Position Summary:
Graduation Alliance is looking for teachers to join our team. Our ideal candidate has online or traditional high school teaching experience, with an interest in serving at-risk students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support for students
- Differentiate Instruction for many skill levels.
- Create remediation lessons for individual students.
- Coordinate student support with other members of the student services department.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum BS or BA from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Current Teacher Certification.
- Teacher Certification from other states, is highly desired such as LA, FL, NC, and NM.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
- Demonstrated professionalism that displays effective judgment and professional integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to work with struggling at-risk students.
- Demonstrated ability to function in a leadership and guiding role that enhances student achievement toward educational goals,
- Independent problem solving is a must.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented .
- Effective and engaging written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of web-based applications for online learning, including learning environments and web-based development tools.
This teacher position is for an on-line course and includes assessment of student progress and academic intervention and support. Students and teachers work in an asynchronous environment which creates a flexible environment for both teacher and student. This position is part-time and works well to complement teachers who have other on-line positions or continue to teach in a brick and mortar environment.
Our students are enrolled in Graduation Alliance programs through their local high schools and state programs. Graduation Alliance provides all of the services that these students need in order to be successful. This includes an academic coach, a local advocate, online curriculum and teacher. The teacher’s primary responsibility is to assess students’ work. Our classes are mainly proprietary and housed in our Learning Management System (LMS). Teachers have an account and grade work on a daily basis. Student contact is expected but most of it takes place through our internal communication system. This contact includes providing alternative assessments when necessary and giving instructional guidance when requested. Most teachers work full time brick and mortar jobs and work for Graduation Alliance outside of regular school hours. Graduation Alliance employs teachers part time at a variety of FTEs. This number of hours expected per week is based on the FTE status.
