✨The core mission of the Senior PHP Engineer:

Be part of an architecture team that will be scaling up during the next few years. Get involved in a project from scratch and have end to end responsibilities and tasks. You will join a dynamic team that will be having an impact across all of our products.

🍺 The fellowship you’ll be joining:

Right now the architecture team consists of architects that are working on high level definition of things & processes. We have already expanded the team with senior engineers that are responsible for transitioning from monolithic design to microservices and work on product features across all platforms.

⚔️ Tools & weapons you’ll be using:

  • PHP programming language, Laravel or any other MVC framework (open for Symfony or other frameworks as well), PostgreSQL, Jira

  • Develop new services and tools using the Laravel PHP Framework
  • Generate clean, safe, reusable and scalable PHP code
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs
  • Contribute to architectural and software design decisions
  • Contribute and maintain technical documentation and specifications
  • Collaborate with product teams
  • Provide support on service integrations
  • Perform code reviews
  • Maintain the existing services by reacting to issues and defects raised
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, who are using Vue.js to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic

🏆 Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role of Senior PHP Engineer at Hack The Box:

  • Proven professional experience in PHP backend development
  • Experience with Laravel, Symfony, or other PHP frameworks following the MVC architecture is a strong plus
  • Experience with applications providing a RESTful API is a plus
  • Understanding of relational databases structures
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as PHPUnit
  • Self-motivated / Passionate about your craft
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Linux server environment is plus
  • Being cyber security-minded is a strong plus
  • Previous experience in Go/Node/Python will be a big plus
  • Package development experience or demonstrating packages you have built in the past is a plus

  • Level 1: To complete level one’s objective, submit your application.

  • Level 3: Meet the hiring team. Level’s objective: connect with the hiring team and share with them your achievements.
