What you will do

As the Director of Psychometrics and Analytics, you'll lead a seasoned team of psychometricians and statistical analysts to develop innovative systems for adaptive educational assessments. These assessments, ranging from low-stakes (e.g., interim) to high-stakes (e.g., summative), contribute essential data for decision-making across various education levels. Your role involves collaborating on assessments for statewide accountability models, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for peer review.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a dynamic team, overseeing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clearly communicate technical issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enhance operational procedures and document best practices.
  • Ensure quality control processes for project deliverables.
  • Provide independent consulting support to both internal and external clients.
  • Engage in a research program, contribute to publications, and present at conferences.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Support and mentor staff for professional development.
  • Travel as required for the role.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership in overseeing technical experts in large-scale psychometrics.
  • Strong knowledge of psychometric techniques, including computer adaptive assessment analyses.
  • Proficiency in software packages for psychometric work and research (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
  • Experience with Agile methods and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with a talent for providing innovative solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

What you will need

  • Ph.D. in Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of work experience in educational measurement, including supervisory roles.
  • Record of leading complex projects in large-scale assessment over 5-7 years.
  • Experience working directly with clients and responding to RFPs.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective teamwork.

Salary Range: 160k -175k
