Job Title: Sr Director of Product Marketing

Do you want to put powerful solutions into the hands of K-12 educators and students across around the world? Join the Heinemann Product Marketing Team as the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, supporting our math programs.

As the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, you will lead the development and execution of go-to-market marketing plans for our math programs, serving as the product ambassador – from conceptualization through execution and will deliver compelling, high-impact customer centric campaigns that are grounded in customer needs and can be measured for effectiveness. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide sales enablement programs, presales training, adoption support and content needed for channel marketing.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in K-12 SaaS sales and/or marketing and possesses a skillset that includes digital marketing experience and the use of 21st century tactics and tools that drive new sales, expansion, and retention growth. A leader by nature, the candidate will exude the daily energy and optimism needed to deliver product value proposition to both internal and external constituents. Experience driving strategy and measuring results required.

When you join our marketing team as the Sr. Director of Product Marketing you will be responsible for the following primary duties:

  • Create and execute marketing and promotional plans, leveraging marketing and digital experience, math solutions based on launch strategy as identified by product segmentation and Sales/company goals.
  • Connect marketing strategies to cross-discipline and cross-company programs, implementing cohesive and consistent messaging that enhances the HNM’s move to digital.
  • Create sales enablement for all math programs including training, sales support assets, pitch templates, etc
  • Maintains strong, ongoing channels of communication with other internal stakeholders in Product Management & Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Enablement, Global Supply Chain, Content Specialists, and others.
  • Use data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to gauge effectiveness of marketing plans and promotional campaigns.
  • Continue to develop solid understandings of how districts adopt and buy math solutions, including customer purchasing behavior, their purchase criteria, including the influence of current standards, and how to concisely articulate criteria coverage that connects to our programs, while eliciting and maintaining customer interest in the program.
  • Provide accurate and quick support for sales teams to drive revenue.
  • Analyze competitors’ programs to deliver winning sales strategies to the sales team.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of digital marketing, resourceful connections with educators, customers, and future customers.
  • Manage and lead the product marketing managers who support our math portfolio. Set goals and objectives, provide guidance and support, and ensure that team members have the resources and support they need to be successful.


What you’ll need: (Required to perform this role)

  • Requires BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years professional experience in a marketing related position, or 5+ years in working in education industry.
  • Proven experience with SaaS marketing, sales, editorial, consulting, or product management roles, creating and executing innovative marketing campaigns through multiple channels that drive demand.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SalesForce, Eloqua, and Social Media platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to persuasively present our solutions to multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred but not necessary: skills/education/experience/working knowledge

  • Experience managing team members.
  • Team player focused on relationship building and collaboration within and across teams.
  • Self-starter: takes initiative and ownership, meets deadlines, exhibits deep understanding of the pedagogy, needs, and challenges faced by the K-12 customer (students and educators), and can translate this understanding into customer-centric marketing strategies and deliverables.
  • Independent thinker, creative, a problem solver who is flexible, solutions oriented.
  • Able to balance the big picture and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative skills – working across teams.
  • Excellent project management skills and writing skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Eloqua
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Travel required at least 4 times per year, possibly more during intensive periods of training, planning meetings, or campaigns.
  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing) for 4+ hours.
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
