The Senior Software Engineer is a hands-on full-stack coding role, working as part of a cross-functional team alongside Developers, Designers and Quality Assurance testers, within an agile development environment, across multiple platforms. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for building scalable and cohesive solutions and will work with scrum teams comprised of internal staff and outside vendors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation and experience being a full-stack developer to build and maintain websites, online products and their interfaces. The candidate should be self-motivated, and adept in performing development responsibilities within a deadline and fast-paced environment. Experience developing products and sites via the Agile/Scrum methodology is desired. Candidate should have experience providing level of effort for tasks and ability to point stories and epics. The candidate will be collaborating with a full scrum team(s) that includes a delivery lead, other developers, product owners and designers.

The candidate will collaborate with designers to address any layout or design issues, help with the creation of and enhancements to existing websites and other projects, and will need to interpret style and content guidelines effectively to maintain brand clarity. They will need to be enthusiastic and friendly, willing to support content editors and review content modifications when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain WordPress sites and custom plugins
  • Build and maintain front-end applications using JavaScript and Svelte
  • Write clean and maintainable PHP
  • Manage AWS infrastructure and deployments
  • Create responsive designs with CSS
  • Optimize site performance and security

Skill Required:

  • Strong experience with PHP and WordPress development
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Svelte
  • Responsive design expertise including CCS, Bootstrap, and React
  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • AWS cloud service knowledge

Extra Knowledge Preferred:

  • Tailwind CSS, SCSS
  • Storybook
  • Salesforce Experience Builder and Lightning Design System
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards
  • Experience with agile development practices
  • Figma

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ relevant software development experience
  • 5+ years’ experience working with technologies such as PHP, Wordpress, Javascript and Svelte
  • Understanding of a full development lifecycle – from conception to launch
  • Experience working with AWS hosting environments and using Docker and Kubernetes a plus.
  • Working experience of modern Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, Test Driven Development)
  • A spirit of collaboration, transparent communication, and mentorship
  • An interest in learning new scripting languages, frameworks, and technologies
  • High personal code/development standards (peer testing, unit testing, documentation, etc.)
  • B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience
