What you’ll do
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Accountant to oversee our revenue recognition accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for the ed tech industry. This role will be critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records related to revenue and supporting our growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare, review, and analyze revenue-related account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Facilitate the month-end and year-end revenue close processes.
- Analyze and document agreements with customers in accordance with ASC 606.
- Collaborate with other departments, including sales operations & order management to ensure accurate contract review and revenue recognition.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities related to revenue.
- Assist in financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ASC 606.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, SAP, and Tableau.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the ed tech industry or a similar digital-first environment is a plus.
Salary Range: $75k - $90k annually.
