Job Description
Job Summary
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, line by line verification of stock locations and quantities and various other checks of inventory accuracy.
- Implement and maintain control systems and procedures to ensure the handling of stock is effective, efficient, and economical for the business.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform an ongoing analysis of stock on behalf of all the Company, manage and further develop Cycle Count Stock Procedures for Wholesale titles.
- Maintain accurate records of stock adjustments and findings and be prepared to present an analysis of complex issues and figures to Management as required.
- Monitor stock handling processes throughout the Warehouse, ensuring stock is accounted for accurately within the Warehouse Management System.
- Identify and make recommendations for improvements to stock handling procedures, presenting innovative solutions to the Warehouse Manager
- Document and communicate changes to procedures as well as introduce new procedures for stock handling, to the required personnel within the Warehouse, working in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager
- Maintain accurate records for all stock handling and Cycle counting procedures and update as and when changes occur.
- Problem solves inaccuracies found with stock within the Warehouse; investigate cases of not-found stock and overs, ensuring records are adjusted accordingly and communicated to relevant departments where necessary.
- Support and assist other Warehouse team leaders in relation to stock issues identified within the warehouse.
- Perform a periodical analysis of stock stored according to life sales (for example fast or slow-moving titles, making recommendations for stock management within the warehouse)
- In consultation with the Warehouse Manager plan an ongoing programme of stock relocations to ensure continual best use of space and resources.
- Participate in and initiate changes to stock control procedures as required, scoping new ways of working and assisting with the implementation of new processes.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed.
- Constantly review working practices to provide cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain and improve working procedures.
- Provide accurate management information.
- Agree and implement measures and targets, monitor and control performance, report on progress and initiate corrective action as required.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager and other Team Leaders to manage and prioritize staffing assignments.
- Function as a cover within the Warehouse as requested by the Warehouse Manager.
- Attend meetings with the Warehouse Manager and peers.
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Warehouse Manager and Team Leaders
- Be prepared to undertake continuous development and training to ensure you are equipped with the required skills and knowledge to perform well within this role.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the Distribution area and outside loading bay.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance and programs are being followed where applicable.
- To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues to maintain a safe environment.
- To report any accidents or potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.
- In addition to the above perform other duties as reasonably requested
Qualifications
Qualifications (Typical Experience, Typical Education, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):
Experience:
- At least 2 years’ warehouse experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- At least 2 years’ experience working with a computerized Warehouse / Distribution Management System
- Forklift Truck License Holder – VNA / Counterbalance / PPT are desirable – training can be provided.
Education:
- GSCE / A level education required. Pass Grade A-C in Math and English
Skills:
- Strong understanding of warehouse operation and inventory systems
- Knowledge of distribution industry and products
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong IT skills, proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to understand, analyse and communicate findings from complex data.
- Strong Math and English at GCSE level and above

Additional Information
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 20 kilos during the assigned shift.
- Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 20 kilos to push during the assigned shift.
- Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
- Ability to work designated shift including overtime as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which could include nights and weekends.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Exposure to wide range of temperatures
