We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Dialog Content Tech Team in Bangalore. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Dialog product Content processing pipeline. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of software products that support Dialog Solutions Content processing pipeline, which ingests daily millions of peer-reviewed literatures, med-tech content for the life sciences and healthcare industries. You will work closely with a talented team of Software Engineer and QA Engineers, contributing to impactful solutions that empower researchers and organizations to find answers faster and make better-informed decisions. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• 2+ years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on backend systems.

• 2+ years of Java development experience, including work with Java 8+ and at least one of Java 11/17/21.

• Comfortable working with and refactoring large, older codebases: improving structure while maintaining behavior.

• Proficiency in handling XML and JSON format data.

• Experience working with shell scripting in Linux environment.

• Experience developing code and writing test cases using GitHub Copilot in VS Code.

• Experience across software development lifecycle—from design and coding to testing and deployment.

• Self-driven and proactive, with excellent collaboration skills.

• Driven by a passion for technology and committed to continuous learning, with a focus on modern frameworks and best practices.

It would be great if you also had

• Python, Angular experience

• Solid understanding of Github for version control and collaborative development.

• Strong background in relational databases (SQL, Oracle)

• AWS basics (S3, SQS, EC2, ECS, OpenSearch) – nice to have

• Experience mentoring junior developers.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions, including architecture decisions and deployments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in the data processing pipeline.

• Collaborating with cross-functional colleagues, providing guidance and assistance when required.

• Contribute to migration of content processing workflows from legacy systems to modern technologies.

Product you will be developing

Dialog Solutions helps researchers and organizations simplify and optimize the research process, giving access to structured, peer-reviewed literature and advanced search tools. Our goal is to build a robust content processing pipeline that delivers records within SLA and includes proactive monitoring to keep stakeholders informed.

About the Team

You will join a collaborative and effective team of 4 Software Engineers, 4 content Analysts, 1 QA Engineers and 1 Solution Analyst, working together with clear direction, open communication, and a strong spirit of collaboration. Colleagues are in the USA (product owner, developers, Content Analysts ,managerial), Spain (Solution Analyst) and Bangalore(Developer, Content Analysts,Solution Analyst).

Hours of Work

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Bangalore or Hyderabad office, operating from 2 PM to 10 PM IST to enable collaboration with our US-based team. We follow a hybrid working model.
